This week was kinda weird! We had to stay in a couple nights because of Halloween and a thing called Guy Fawkes night where they celebrate this guy failing a terrorist attempt in 1605 by making a bunch of bonfires. Kinda weird. hahahaha We got to carve pumpkins and mine is the Jack Skellington one 🙂 We left them in the grass outside our flat and a bunch of slugs were crawling in their eyes and mouth and it looks creepy hahahaha. On Saturday, there was a fireworks show in the town center and 30,000 people were there! It was crazy, but we set up an appointment while we were there with a girl named Ana and taught her the Restoration on Sunday. She is cool 🙂 Viorel was baptized on a Sunday so we had to wait a week for his confirmation and I had the blessing of confirming him and it was a great experience. He is just so happy and excited about the gospel. He started reading The Book of Mormon again and he is in Jacob already. What a legend.
Alma 29:5 Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before all men; he that knoweth not good from evil is blameless; but he that knoweth good and evil, to him it is given according to his desires, whether he desireth good or evil, life or death, joy or remorse of conscience. We all have choices in life! Most of the time they are choices that bring us closer to God or further away from God. Step back and think about where your choices are taking you, and then change them if they aren’t helping you get closer to God.
I love you all! Have a great week!
P.S. I held an owl. His name is Wolly and we are best friends.

Viorel finally was able to be baptized! He was released from the hospital on Tuesday 🙂 His baptismal service was beautiful. He said he felt clean. What a great miracle! I was so happy. Edinburgh was cool as always. I got to go on exchanges with Elder Peacock again and we planned a whole road trip for when he comes to America next summer so that should be fun 🙂
I got to meet another apostle! Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles came to Dundee to speak to all the missionaries serving in Scotland. We took a picture with him and each got to shake his hand 🙂 We learned a lot from him. He said “Never forget the day when an apostle of the Lord came to thank you.” He came all the way to Scotland to thank us! Pretty cool 🙂 I liked when he said “The Lord requires a reasonable effort and sufficient faith that He will do the rest! Faith is a choice.” Choose to have faith everybody!
I love you all 🙂

5&6) We participated in the Ayr wards skit for a road show 🙂 It was James Bond themed

I got 6 months left in the field today! That is insane. I have already been back for 7 and 1/2 months! Time flies everyone.
T’was a crazy week! Lots of random stuff Elder Fehoko and I had to do, but in the times where we were actually able to do missionary work, we found a really cool kid named Tomas! He is from Portugal and he loved the message of the Restoration and came to Stake Conference with us! Stake Conference was great. Elder Matthieu Bennasar of the 70 spoke to us. He is from France so I asked him if he knew a President Woolley who presided over the Marseilles mission over 20 years ago. He remembered my Grandad! Cool experience. Viorel is in the hospital still 😦 hopefully he will get released soon if these antibiotics work! I am going to Edinburgh for a couple days and then Dundee to meet Elder Renlund! I am excited 🙂
1 Nephi 1:1 I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days. The footnote for afflictions in the first verse in the Book of Mormon is BLESSINGS. What a cool replacement.
Have a great week! I love you all 🙂

I took some good pictures this week, but I left my camera at home -____- classic. Haha
This week was great! We taught some new people, like Guy! Guy is a guy from England (yes, that’s his name). He has come to church for a couple weeks and we taught him finally. He said he has been reading the Book of Mormon and enjoys it 🙂 Viorel is STILL in the hospital :((( Turns out he didn’t have a kidney infection. They don’t even know what is causing his fevers. He is nervous. He finished the Book of Mormon on Saturday! 6 weeks and he finished the Book of Mormon. Amazing. He loved it and said he is going to reread it. Please keep praying for him so he can get better and get baptized!
I have been studying in Alma this week and man, Alma and Amulek are awesome! They “spoke plainly”. I think that teaching simply in missionary work is so critical. You don’t have to create some crazy dialogue to share with your friends, just be simple and plain! Share how the church and its teachings have helped you. Simple. I love how easy the gospel really is to understand. There was a Primary Program in Sacrament yesterday and those kids understand the gospel. I love it. Like the kids taught me yesterday, we should all Choose the Right!
Have a great week!

No group email from Paul on October 2nd due to moves.
October 9, 2017
Sorry for no email last week! I was busy driving all over Scotland hahahaha. Moving people was pretty crazy. Elder Wayment got transferred to Cork! My new companion is Elder Fehoko from Tonga! He is super funny and a hard worker! I am excited for the things we will be a part of.
Viorel is in the hospital 😦 He has been there since the 29th of September. He will be released this week if all goes well. He has a kidney infection and it has been hard on him because he is from Romania and is alone here in Scotland. He has been pretty nervous, but a lot of members have gone out to visit him so it has really great seeing the ward involved.
My prayers have been focused a lot this week on all who have been affected by the shooting in Las Vegas. What a tragic event. I am so glad to hear about the positive response the people have had and hearing about how everyone is coming together to donate blood, money, supplies, and their time to help those in need. I know that God is with us. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
I love you all! God speed.

Last pday we hiked the Braes! (hills) This week was great! Got to meet a bunch of new people like always, but the real miracle was teaching Viorel again! We had dinner with him at our ward mission leaders house and it was great. Taught him a bunch during the week with a bunch of different members and he came to church! He is kinda shy, but he made a bunch of comments in Gospel Principles and is excited for his baptism on October 7th! He is so prepared and we are so excited for him. I am also super pumped for General Conference this weekend. What a great opportunity we have to hear from living apostles and prophets. Enjoy it! Moves call is also this Saturday so stay tuned!
I love you all and have a great week!

This week was a weird one hahaha. We were on exchanges for 3 out of the 7 days so that isn’t normal 🙂 We went to Edinburgh Tuesday
night for exchanges with the assistants. It was a great 2-day exchange with Elder Gibb. Edinburgh is such a cool city. Lots of college students that like to talk to missionaries! We went home Thursday
night and had exchanges in our area with 2 elders in our zone 🙂 It was fun. We weren’t able to see very many people this week, but we were able to find a lot of people for next week! Pray for Viorel! His back is causing him problems and he didn’t make it to church
President Donaldson said this in his email to us this week. “The Book of Mormon is the foundation of the Restoration. It teaches and testifies in plain and unmistakable terms who Jesus Christ is. It is the divinely ordained instrument for the gathering of Israel. It is vital for teaching the doctrine of Christ and for conversion. It contains the fullness of the gospel.” I know that the Book of Mormon is true, because I have read it, and prayed about it! It is that simple. If you haven’t done that, do it! It will change your life 🙂
Have the best week ever!

First off, to brag. I went bowling last pday and got a 176! The best I have ever done 🙂 Hahaha brag over. My week was great! I am meeting a lot of French university students here in Paisley and I always tell them about my mom and my grandad living in France. Oh and about CaremBars (for all the Woolleys reading this). For a miracle this week, Viorel is doing great! We were able to involve a lot of members with him. He came to church even though his back was in a lot of pain! We were able to give him a blessing. Please pray for him! He is doing so well!
I am on the last chapter of The Infinite Atonement by Tad R. Callister and oh man do I love that book. It has changed my perspective on everything. He made a great analogy when talking about justice and mercy. If a man chooses to jump out of a plane, God can’t make gravity not have an effect on him or make the ground soft for his landing. There are laws in the universe that exist and can’t be changed. What God can do is put a parachute on the mans back. If the man chooses to pull the ripcord, he still is affected by gravity and the ground is still hard, but he will be able to land safely. It is the same with us. God has given us the option to repent! He doesn’t break any rules or universal laws, he simply provides a way to save us. We just have to pull the ripcord.
I love you all! Have an awesome week!
August 28, 2017
This week was so fast! We were in Edinburgh all day Thursday, I was sick AGAIN on Friday, and we were in a place called Kilmarnock for half of Saturday. Hahaha so it flew by. On Saturday, we talked to a man named Viorel from Romania, on the street and sat down and taught him right there! He enjoyed it a lot, and he came to church yesterday! It was awesome. I know that the Lord is preparing so many people in the world to accept the message of the gospel, we just have to open our mouths! We are going to Edinburgh again on Thursday and we are having an All-Scotland conference! It should be fun to see everyone. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
August 21, 2018
Moves call was on Saturday and Elder Wayment and I are staying together in Paisley! I am super excited 🙂 We have had such a great week! Here is a miracle.
Yesterday, our investigator Owen came to church! But he brought his girlfriend named Summer too. She has been a couple times in the past, but not since I have been here. They loved church. They heard about the ward temple trip on November 17th and they asked us at the end of church how they could go with the ward to the temple. We sent them over to the High Priest Group Leader who is in charge and they arranged to get a ride to Preston and visit the temple! All by themselves! I was in awe. The Lord is truly preparing them and they now have the temple in their sights. We are seeing them tonight and teaching them the Plan of Salvation so that we can set them with a baptismal date, with a goal to do baptisms for the dead when they visit the temple. It was a truly amazing experience. Pray for them! 🙂
I know that the ordinances of the gospel are ways that we can find Heaven on Earth. If you haven’t been to the temple recently to assist in the work of salvation, go this week! The work is there for us, we just have to do it. I have seen so many blessings in my life and many other people’s lives that have come from serving in the temple. Plus, I don’t have a temple in my mission, so you have to help me out haha.
I love you all! Have a great week 🙂
