Baptismo!

June 12, 2017

This week was a good one! Our friend Edna got baptized! She is from Brazil 🙂 Elder McCappin was able to be there and baptize her! He has been touring the mission with his parents and one of his brothers. It was so good to see him again and meet his family. His mom gave me TimTams! They are these super good chocolate cookies. Edna loved her baptism, but on Sunday morning she told me she would not be able to come to church to be confirmed. She is very sick and didn’t sleep all of Saturday night 😦 Please pray for Edna that she will get better and be able to make it to church next Sunday. Besides that, we are teaching a few new people 🙂 I will keep you all updated if anyone makes any crazy progress. I am loving my time in the city of Dublin! We have an All-Ireland conference tomorrow and I am very excited for that 🙂

A scripture this week that has helped one of our investigators, Juliane, and one of our recent converts, Justin, is Mosiah 2:41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it. When we keep the commandments, the Lord blesses us in ALL THINGS. What a beautiful doctrine. I love it. Keep the commandments everyone!
Have a great week 🙂

  1. Paul,

Congrats on the baptism! The lady that lives downstairs is from Brazil : ) I bet Edna made it to church to be confirmed today.

I personally know three missionaries who are serving right now. It is such a privilege to hear your stories and experiences and feel the fire of the gospel through you!

I’ve been praying for opportunities to bear my testimony and share the gospel lately, and the opportunities have been coming : ) I have a friend who has been disillusioned by anti-Mormon literature and has removed her records from the church. She has been experimenting with any “forbidden” activity imaginable but is still feeling empty . . . (duh) she said that she thought that taking away all the restrictions would make her feel free and that she’d be more able to be her authentic self. Instead she finds herself feeling lost and alone, (trying to live believe that God doesn’t exist and that there is no life after this one does make this life feel cold and purposeless). Anyway, I listened to her for hours and then bore a powerful testimony, telling her all of the things that “I know for sure”. I invited her to reach out to me any time she needed to talk and assured her that my life was solid – built on the rock of my Redeemer. I told her that she could count on me to love her no matter what she was going through. It felt good to feel the Spirit guide my words. THANK YOU for the scripture that you shared, it was exactly what I needed to hear.

I love you, sweetheart. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers ❤ Thank you again for dedicating and consecrating your time to finding and teaching our brothers and sisters and helping them know of the restored gospel on the earth. Your mission will be something you will be grateful for, for the rest of your life. (I LOVE remembering my incredible time in Bolivia & Peru.)
