Back in the Burgh

June 26, 2017

Hey all!

This week I went on exchanges with the AP’s in Edinburgh, Scotland 🙂 It was super fun! We took a flight on Wednesday morning to Scotland and came back on Thursday Morning. I felt like a business man hahaha. I’ll attach a dope pic of Edinburgh castle. We found some really cool people this week. We taught a man named Edson on Saturday. He is a 62 year old, Brazilian retired PE teacher and volleyball coach! He is a true legend. He is here for 8 months studying English like over 20,000 Brazilians do in Dublin. “My favorite Brazilian city is Dublin” -Elder Worley. He came to church and loved it 🙂 A Hungarian man named Robert to church this week. He met twice with missionaries over 6 months ago and felt pressured to be baptized so he stopped meeting with them. He read the Book of Mormon by himself and finished it on Thursday. Elder Worley sent a church text to all of the potentials in the phone on Saturday and Robert came to church yesterday. He loved it. He doesn’t want to meet with missionaries again just yet, but said he will continue to come to church. He will be also coming to a baptism this Friday. What a miracle!
Happy Fathers Day last week and happy birthday do Dad and Eric!

Ether 2:25 And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea? The Lord will prepare us in every situation. There will be problems and hard times in our lives but the Lord always has a plan.
I love you all! Have a great week.

Baptismo!

June 12, 2017

This week was a good one! Our friend Edna got baptized! She is from Brazil 🙂 Elder McCappin was able to be there and baptize her! He has been touring the mission with his parents and one of his brothers. It was so good to see him again and meet his family. His mom gave me TimTams! They are these super good chocolate cookies. Edna loved her baptism, but on Sunday morning she told me she would not be able to come to church to be confirmed. She is very sick and didn’t sleep all of Saturday night 😦 Please pray for Edna that she will get better and be able to make it to church next Sunday. Besides that, we are teaching a few new people 🙂 I will keep you all updated if anyone makes any crazy progress. I am loving my time in the city of Dublin! We have an All-Ireland conference tomorrow and I am very excited for that 🙂

A scripture this week that has helped one of our investigators, Juliane, and one of our recent converts, Justin, is Mosiah 2:41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it. When we keep the commandments, the Lord blesses us in ALL THINGS. What a beautiful doctrine. I love it. Keep the commandments everyone!
Have a great week 🙂

2 Nephi 21:30

June 5, 2017

Hello friends and family!

This week was a doozy hahaha. Transfers in my mission are crazy, especially in Dublin. We cover three countries so there are missionaries taking cars, busses, ferries, and planes to their new areas. I had some late nights and early mornings all this week trying to coordinate it all, but I got a new companion! His name is Elder Worley! He is 19, from California, and is alright at piano… okay fine he is flippin’ amazing at piano! I will have to send a video sometime. I’m so excited for this transfer 🙂 Also, 2 different families from America bumped into us this week on the street and took us out to ice cream and burritos! I’m so blessed haha.
Edna is going to get baptized this week! She didn’t make it to church yesterday because she had work, so we are going to work super hard this week to make sure she can be baptized. She keeps asking me, “When am I going to pick out my dress?” haha she’s great 🙂 Our friend Juliane is making great progress as well! We have been seeing her for the past 3 weeks and it has been quite frustrating hahaha. She hasn’t been reading The Book of Mormon until this week! She read ALL OF 2 NEPHI IN TWO DAYS. That’s insane. She said she felt the Spirit so strong while reading 2 Nephi 31 and feels like she needs to be baptized again. I am so excited for her 🙂
I have been thinking a lot about Nephi this week. 1 Nephi 11:16-17 And he said unto me: Knowest thou the condescension of God? And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things. Sometimes we do not know the meaning of all things. But if we follow the example of Nephi, we can find peace. Remember that God loves his children and all of our questions will be answered in time.
Have a great week! God bless!

Twice in White!

May 29, 2017

Hello everyone! This week was unforgettable.

Sesu got baptized on Friday! It was incredible. It was Elder McCappin’s last day and he was able to baptize her. It was an incredible day! Hari got baptized on Saturday! He was so excited. I was able to baptize him. I felt the Spirit so strong. I was also able to confirm Sesu on Sunday. This has truly been the best week of my mission. I cannot describe the joy I feel for Sesu and Hari as they start their journey in the church. Sesu bore her testimony in gospel principles about repentance. It was so cool to see how far she has come in just one short month. I love the work! Dublin is the best 🙂
Elder McCappin went home! 😦 He taught me so much and he has changed my mission. He will be back in Dublin with his parents in two weeks though so it’s ok 🙂 He will be baptizing our investigator Edna on the 10th of June! She is from Brazil and is so enthusiastic about baptism. More to come about her!
I have been up since 2am today moving missionaries! It has been insane. And I have had no time to email all day. And now I have to go pick up another missionary at the bus station to drop him off at the airport at 5am! Fun stuff 🙂
I love you all and have a great week! The Lord is truly revealing his hand in the work here in Dublin.
