Words of a Prophet

April 4, 2016

Hiya from the Emerald Isle!

This week was great! On March 25th, I met a man named Sean. Every Friday, the 6 missionaries in Cork volunteer at a soup kitchen called Penny Dinner’s. Sean was working that day as well and he was really interested about what we do as missionaries. I told him a lot of analytical things about the work we do, but not really about the actual message we share. He asked us what we were doing after we were done volunteering and I told him we were going to make a chalk drawing of God’s plan for us (The Plan of Salvation) on the sidewalk in the middle of city center. He came and loved the idea! We saw him 3 times this week. He said every single answer we give him makes sense. He was reading the Book of Mormon at home and he got an overwhelming tingling feeling all over his body that he had never felt before. He knew it was the Spirit teaching him that what he was reading was true. He is so solid! But he lives in a place called Skibereen on the weekends and it is 2 hours away. He can’t come to church! Please pray for him.

On the sad side, Anne isn’t replying to our emails 😦

Back on the happy side, General Conference. What an amazing weekend. I have learned so much!

There were 3 people that spoke that I have personally met on my mission. Elder Patrick Kearon of the 70, Elder Donald Hallstrom of the Presidency of the 70, and Elder M. Russel Ballard of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles! They have all visited my mission and I shook each of their hands. My favorite talk was Elder Hallstrom’s, a powerful message about how we are the children of God. It was incredible to hear the Prophet speak as well. We are so blessed to live in a time where we have a living prophet guiding Christ’s church on the earth. Don’t take this for granted! Listen to his council and you will be blessed. “As we contemplate the decisions we make in our lives each day—whether to make this choice or that—if we choose Christ, we will have made the correct choice.” -President Thomas S. Monson

I love you all and have a great week!
