St. Patrick’s Day

March 21, 2016

Hi! This week was pretty cool! St Patrick’s Day in Ireland is no joke. There were 50,000 people in the city on Thursday. A big parade, lots of food stands, and a big stage with a band attracted all those people. Me, Elders van Staden, van Buyton, and Christiansen got a whiteboard and went around asking everyone what made them happy. A lot of drunk people. Gotta love Ireland right? Haha it was a really cool experience.

Fred got back from vacation yesterday and made it to Sacrament meeting. He was super jetlagged, but he made it through. We talked to him about his baptism on Tuesday and he is still unsure! He wants to be baptized so bad, but he is nervous. We moved his baptismal date to Thursday and the service will be at 7pm. But he still has to decide. We are going to his house to help him pack for a few hours today so we will talk more. Please pray for him! He said if anyone is baptizing him, it would be us. He is so prepared, but he doesn’t think so. Stay tuned for next week and see what happens!

Pretty uneventful week besides that. I was listening to a talk by David A. Bednar entitled “Converted Unto the Lord” and he talked about a really cool scripture! Alma 23:7 For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren. We all have things in our lives that we use to rebel against God. Pride, being unrepentant, anger, lust, jealousy, stubbornness. The list goes on and on. We need to recognize the weapons of rebellion we have and lay them down and become a righteous people.

I love you all and have a fantastic week!
