Obedience! Jan. 18th

Hello everyone! This week was amazing! we got to see Cheryl! It has been over a month since we have seen her, so it was great getting to teach her again. We were able to teach her about repentance and clear up some concerns she has. She came to church as well! In our Gospel Principles class, I handed her a new Book of Mormon and asked her to turn to page 14 for the lesson. She couldn’t find it. I took the book and there was no page 14! It went from page 6 to page 54! Hahaha! We also got to teach a kid named Kieran yesterday! He met us in city center when we were street boarding again on Wednesday. He is 17 and a strong Christian. We were able to teach a really powerful first lesson. The Spirit was very strong and he committed to be baptized! He also wants to become a missionary! He is so prepared. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for him!

This week I gave a talk in Sacrament about obedience. Something that my companion, Elder Smith, has taught me is that we are not obedient because of the blessings that are promised with it. We are obedient to glorify God. John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” God has given us commandments to protect us and feel everlasting joy! Not to restrict us and make us feel sad. I know that there is a purpose for every single commandment, even if we might not fully understand them all. We can all see miracles in our lives from keeping God’s commandments! I love you all and have a fantastic week!
